About Hoyas Unlimited
Established in 1970, Hoyas
Unlimited is an umbrella organization consisting of distinct volunteer
clubs (like GRA) that support one or more of Georgetown’s 26 intercollegiate
athletics programs, as well as the Intramural Programs and the Yates Field
House. Over the past 30 years, Hoyas Unlimited’s members have collectively
contributed more than eighteen million dollars for use by their program
of interest. During Fiscal year 2003, Hoyas Unlimited raised over $1.9
million from nearly 4,000 donors—our most successful year ever.
As Georgetown has increased the opportunities for student-athlete participation
by growing the number of sports it supports—and as the costs associated
with running those sports increases—each program has relied more
heavily on the support of alumni, parents and friends through Hoyas Unlimited’s
support clubs. Donations to Hoyas Unlimited provide direct support to
the sport program and can be designated to pay for specific items, which
each program needs.
In addition to providing financial support for their sport of interest,
each club also provides communications support through newsletters and
emails to keep their constituents informed and sponsors social events
to promote fellowship among its members.
Hoyas Unlimited is part of the Georgetown Annual Fund
All gifts to Hoyas Unlimited from alumni count in your class and reunion
totals through the Georgetown Annual Fund. Gifts from parents also count
as gifts to the Parents Fund. By giving to Hoyas Unlimited, then, you
make your Annual Fund gift each year and participate in the University’s
annual fundraising campaign. At the same time, you’ll know that
your donation goes towards the specific athletic program that you want
to support!
