Jim Ohemke writes from London: After moving to England two years ago, I decided I couldn't live this close to the Thames and not row so I started rowing again last fall. I have been rowing with Reading RC since November. Following a poor season in an eight and a coxless four, three weeks before Henley, we put together a coxed four for the Britannia Challenge Cup, with me at stroke. Despite having to go through the qualifying races, we progressed to the semifinals where we lost by 1/3 of a length to York City, knocking out St Michaels, Ireland in the quarterfinals and Star Club A in the heats. St Michael's were the pre race favorites having won the premier event in a Dublin regatta shortly before Henley. Both York City and St Michaels were selected/seeded crews.

Karen Rancourt ('97) got engaged over Thanksgiving 2005. Karen and Joe both live in the South Jersey area, where Karen is a teacher in a private school for children with disabilities. They met on the mission trip for their church this past summer and have been together ever since. They became fast friends, and Karen cannot be happier (her email about him actually bubbles with excitment). The wedding date is not set yet, but they are looking at October 2006. They might follow Melissa and Jonah Davenport's beach theme - except in Ocean City, NJ.
Lauren Kelly ('00) and Roberto Ugarte were engaged at the top of La Sagrada familia in Barcelona in March. They will be married in June 2007 on Cape Cod, after they both graduate from Boston University School of Medicine. Nikki Wright (99) and Tara Galvin (02) will be bridesmaids. They plan to continue living in Boston, with Lauren's dog, during their Residencies.
