Fairfax, VA--In their first competition of the fall Georgetown's frosh rowers won the Collegiate Novice 8 event at the 2005 Occoquan Chase in a time of 17:33.2, more than a minute over second place William & Mary (18:44.1). Members of the frosh heavyweight and lightweight squads combined to race two 8s over the 3-mile course on the Occoquan Reservoir. The second Georgetown entry placed 8th in the field of eleven.
The varsity heavyweight squad was also in action at the Occoquan Chase racing an 8 and two 4s.
